The lifespan of a diesel generator is generally shorter than that of other sources. Beyond their lifespan, they are maintenance-intensive and sensitive. You can think of this like your car: it has its quirks every year and requires maintenance every year.

Diesel generators therefore require more maintenance and also need to be monitored more closely.

The impact of a defective diesel generator is also much greater than that of a defective inverter or solar panel.

When a generator breaks down, it can cause an outage in an entire street, neighborhood, or area. This affects not only households but also businesses, and thus the economy.

The manufacturer's warranty for a diesel generator often varies from 3 to a maximum of 10 years.

Solar energy! The sun is free, and fortunately, we have a bit more of it in Suriname than in some other parts of the world!

Inverters have a warranty ranging from 10 to 15 years, which is often extendable.

Provided they are properly maintained, solar panels have a lifespan of 25 to 40 years.

The payback model for solar energy is often more favorable than that of other sources. You do not pay your energy supplier for what you generate and use during the day, and you are often reimbursed for what you feed back into the grid.
